  Confidentiality and investments

  LAST Friday's article, "Suntec shares not held by church itself", referred to church member Simon Teoh's two wishes: that the Commissioner of Charities would ask for the confidentiality clauses to be rescinded and that City Harvest Church would amend its Constitution so major business deals can be put to a vote among ordinary church members.

  Mr Teoh's suggestions are impractical.

  By rescinding its non-disclosure agreement, the church would be putting the entire Suntec deal at risk.

  As for the suggestion to put major business deals to vote by ordinary members, surely he is not proposing that all 33,000 members should vote on every single major deal?
