ASERIAL molester was put away for five years by a district court on
Monday as he poses a risk to young girls.
Wee Chin Yong, 41, was ordered to serve corrective training
as he had committed a spate of similar offences since he was 13 years
old.
Court documents indicate that the unemployed man would
approach girls as young as nine and try to touch their nipples. He also
took upskirt pictures of female commuters on trains and even of female
devotees of a temple in Loyang.
The court heard that Wee has an IQ of 59 and was mildly
retarded. The IQ level of a normal person is between 90 and 110.
Wee pleaded guilty to three molest charges while another
molest offence was taken into consideration by the judge in sentencing.
Also considered was a charge for possessing a stolen cell phone and four
counts of upskirt photography.
In asking for a stiff sentence for Wee, the prosecutor said
that a psychiatric report from the Institute of Mental Health deemed Wee
to be 'a potential menace to society, especially to young females.'
