Hahahah Yeah!!!! Mac's REALLY DO HAD NICE lemon tea....and they used to use a special blend from Lipton in the past....but now they change brands becos of some reasons not to be discussed here....the feedback from alot of frens is like yours....Originally posted by ditzy:Mcdonald's used to be ok, but I dunno what frickin' brand they switched to. The taste and aftertaste is simply yucks.Pokka doesn't make nice tea either. So far I've tasted lemon teas in many many places, somehow, none of them seems to make a cut. Can't even rank them good nor average. Thats my standard for tea, lemon tea especially.

oh no... u hav discovered the recipe for season's lemon teaOriginally posted by fumih_81:actually at first i tot KFC iced tea is really sud sud...but somehow think n think...more like v sweetened tea with a piece of lemon.
the reason why i said so is coz got once i wanted to make my own lemon tea. then i made one cup of lipton tea, den grab the lemonade from my fridge...added together....
yucks! it tasted exactly like season's !
To be frank with u, the lipton tea that we normally drink in the households are not meant for ice teas. The formulae is different. If you notice, the normal lipton tea will turn a bit cloudy if u add ice to it....thus changing the taste profile. The ones that MAcdonalds use to have is a special formulae that Lipton came up for them, thats why the ice tea is clear and nice.Originally posted by fumih_81:actually at first i tot KFC iced tea is really sud sud...but somehow think n think...more like v sweetened tea with a piece of lemon.

issit tat lipton tea cannot add ice to it ah? last time i think i heard something like tisOriginally posted by gasband:To be frank with u, the lipton tea that we normally drink in the households are not meant for ice teas. Its really nothing very secretive.... most if not all hot tea formulaes (not just lipton) are not suited for adding ice to it, briefly it has something to do with oxidation. If you wanna test it out, if u put alot of ice immediately into a very hot cup of tea, u will see the cloudiness almost immediately but leave the tea to cool and then add ice, the cloudiness will somehow set in later, but no matter what it will still become cloudy and thus not many food outlets use hot tea formulaes to do ice tea cos it has no presentation in terms of colour. Most ice tea u see food outlets serving are using tea pouches or tea bags that are specially made for ice tea, as for whats so special....thats a trade secret hahaha....Originally posted by monkeybusiness:issit tat lipton tea cannot add ice to it ah? last time i think i heard something like tis
wonder issit true or not
the chilling part is a good alternative for household use but most food outlets again will not use that method because of costing reasons. As for increasing tea strengths, it is important to note that the way to increase tea strength is to put in more tea bags or tea leaves but never to infuse the tea for too llong. It will cause the tea to be estringent. Our normal household lipton tea should not be infuse inside the water more than 2.5 minutes. Thats when hot tea is at its best...Originally posted by ditzy:If you add ice, naturally, the tea will be diluted by the water from the ice upon melting. Two ways you can rectify this problem, increase the tea strength when brewing, or chilling the tea, instead of addition of ice.![]()
ya most people think that by leaving the tea bag inside the water, you will get the most and best of the tea but what they will get is a very 'bitter' or estringent taste and then they go on and blame the tea saying its lousyOriginally posted by ditzy:See, I so smart, not like my housemate she leave her tea bag dangling there till year 2020 one.![]()
