Fried Rice

i notice now a lot of tze char using mock char siew (vegeterian) instead of the real thing in their fried rice. absolutely tasteless. those food court are the worst, they use diced carrot, corn and peas. what happened to the traditional fried rice?

Come to think of it, I also have no idea what the original fried rice is suppose to have and not have. But green beans and carrots are definitely a no-no.

Probably trying to make their food halal. My even my school's char siew noodles are made from chicken char siew.

I like vegeterian char siew though. not as salty as salted fish, and a bit spicy oso -
i like the vegetarian char siew... but only if eating with other vegetarian delights
it tastes bland with fried rice! -
The fried rice in the coffeeshop tian tian lai in Tampines near Blk 140 something,worth a try because the fried rice is tasty,quite large portion and quite cheap($3)
