  what kind of yam paste you talking about?? supermarket (NTUC) got.....in the section that sells tofu and noodle.....

  got one teochew restaurant at Beach Road - dunno the name though...always buy from there....$10 for one tub - abt 3-4 bowls worth of it....very shiok!

  there was one shop at Clementi Central.. the hawker centre opposite the Post Office.. directly behind the chinese satay stall...
  
  they used to sell it... not too bad.. cheap too..
  
  have not passed there for ages so not too sure if still have..

  There is this stall on the second floor of amoy street food centre. This guy advertise alot in makansutra forum. Very nice one but the owner dunno why always look sulky but the wife is very friendly.

  There's a Hai Sing Ah Boling in Chinatown Complex that sells dumplings (tangyuan) with yam paste in it. I like!
