Hmm...If the restaurant has exceptional service and does not charge the 10% service fees, I would tip.

My friends and I tip at places like kbox,swesens etc..With the leftover coins besides the 1 dollar..

There's a nice teochew restaurant in mosque st near chinatown that doesn't have service charge. Restaurant's name is called Lee Kui (Ah Hoi).
They are famous for cold crabs, braised goose and glutinous duck rice.
I always tip that restaurant coz food and service is good. -

Quite frankly, the HK/Chi rest. e.g. crystal jade and i think it's dragon palace usually factor in a tipping fee even on credit card payments ..
Unless you're going to those classier places esp ard holland village, bkt timah, dist 9,10 .. then i think 10% is a fair amount .. -
10% service charge is normally counted as the worker's pay, not tips... some bosses very niao one..

one year we went to Crystal Jade Palace at Taka for CNY dinner and someone in the family tipped them $100, i almost fell off my chair. that itself can buy me 4 buffet lunch at sakura. but then he is rich, an exec director in some American company and apparently he entertains there very often. so the logic is, if you tip them well they will give you tip top service especially when you are with your clients and it will be impressive.
