  Prices are very far from humble, e.g. laksa $28+++, sharksfin fried rice $38+++. BTW, I didn't eat there, I find it too sinful to pay such prices for normal fare, unless my money fell from the sky.
  
  Ichiban Boshi is not bad - sushi and Japanese sets at around $10++ onwards.

  haha.. damn true.. but hor.. go esplanade then must try the high end food ma.. ichiban boshi can eat anyway.. hehehe.. but depends on ur budget too la..
  
  or.. dun eat there la. just go walk walk.. then go out to makansutra.. the oyster omelette very huge! or hokkien mee also good.. but can be a bit hot la..

  Isn't Shima in Goodwood hotel? They have it in Esplanade too?
  
  I like Indonesia's Shima best; fried ice-cream, fried tofu, well-marinated lobster and the kobe beef there just feel different.

  i would go for Ritz Carlton. the money you pay there is worth it, food is yummy
