As part of the continuing Li Ka Shing's Cooking Tips series, here I present you with tip #1 :
Li Ka Shing's Mushroom Broth.
1. choose Xiang Gu mushroom. Uh...that should mean shiddake mushroom. Sorry I cant put the 't' or it will be auto-censored.
2. Choose the dry version as it will be more concentrated in its aroma. And choose the black version instead of the white one. The Xiang Gu has sub-class of black and white ones.
3. Soak it. I mean, wash first of course. Then soak.
4. The broth from the soak can be retained too. Now, boil the mushrooms.
5. You will get wholesome, delicious, aromatic, vegetarian, appetizing, unique, MSG free, mushroom broth. Sure to bring extra flavour to any dish you prepare . This broth can be used as a soup base or for other purposes.
And there you go. Completely simple, and doable.
