is the stall you are referring to opened by hongkong people?Originally posted by charlemagne:You should try this dish called Belacan Chicken Rice...
Though at times I would just order Ko Lo Kai Fun (Sweet and Sour Chicken Rice) or Kong Po Kai Fun (Dried Chilli Chicken Rice)...![]()
Yeah... but not necessarily you know... In JB there, they do have these small kopitiams managed by chinese, quite a number of them speak cantonese... quite nice...Originally posted by Aveme:is the stall you are referring to opened by hongkong people?
Since the name of those dishes you are mentioning are in cantonese (or at least Kai Fun sounds like the cantonese for chicken rice)
Shen MianOriginally posted by charlemagne:There is another one dish... I forgotten it's name, but they put this noodles on a flat plate filled with jelly-like soup... Don't know hor what already... it's not hor fun though... that is also pretty nice...

I see, yeah i know that most chinese in Malaysia like to communicate using Cantonese, but i have only being to JB once and never tried out such zi char stalls b4 so i won't know if it is nice over there.Originally posted by charlemagne:Yeah... but not necessarily you know... My father would usually order that one dish - it has ginger, onions, taugeh and small pieces of fish... I forgotten the name of the dish liau...
Yeah... it's hard to communicate with them especially when they don't understand Mandarin. Facing a hard time telling and pointing to the food you want... Quite terrible...Originally posted by Aveme:I see, yeah i know that most chinese in Malaysia like to communicate using Cantonese, but i have only being to JB once and never tried out such zi char stalls b4 so i won't know if it is nice over there.
