why we take in US beef when Japan has rejected them??

  HI all,
  quite strange that the largest importer of US beef, japan has rejected US beef due to inconsistency but Singapore has taken them in..
  
  Given the Mad Cow disease, shouldn't the authorities make more stringent checks and ensure all is safe?
  
  We already have a case with the slimming pills. We don't need one with the beef...

  I thought we stopped importing US beef a while back...and there were features in the papers about what those affected restaurants here were going to do.
