  Any kind souls to impart the intricate coffeeshop knowledge of the different variants of teh / kopi?
  
  i.e.
  what is
  teh c/ kopi c
  kosong
  ..gah dai/ siew dai/ ge lat?
  
  dun want to end up getting a ridiculous or impossible combination

  teh c is i think with sugar
  
  teh o or kosong is plain
  
  teh means with milk
  
  applies to both tea and coffee also

  teh c is with sugar? tot they got put milk also? cos always saw my colleague order teh c..

  Tea = Tea + Milk + Sugar
  Tea O = Tea + Sugar
  Tea Kosong = Tea + Milk
  Tea O Kosong = Tea (no milk, no sugar)
  Tea C = premium milk. (10c more)
  
  Tea Kao = Thick Tea (more tea added than normal)
  Tea Po = Diluted tea (more water added than normal)
  Tea Siu Tai = Tea Less sweet (less milk)
  Tea Ka Tai = Tea more sweet (more milk)
  Tea Peng = Tea + Ice (usually 20c more)
  
  Siu Tai, Ka Tai po, or kao, not much diff actually, due to $$ issues.
  **Above is same for coffee

  tak gui: Milo
  tai ka ho: Horlick
  Lao Hor: Tiger Beer
  Tiao Hgee: Chinese Tea (in a bag) (60c)

  You're not Singaporean? Or you seldom patronise kopitiams?
  
  To add further / give u a better idea:
  Teh is tea + sweetened condensed milk;
  Teh c is tea + unsweetended evaporated milk + sugar
  
  So u can have teh c kosong, which has no sugar.
  Or teh c kao kosong / teh c pok kosong kae c (Wahaha...u may get a very confused kopi auntie or get scolded for the latter).
  
  Other interesting variants:
  - Tark Keeww (meaning kick ball) = milo
  - Clementi / kim boon tai = ice lemon tea
  
  Will add if I can remember more.

  actuali no harm trying all the diff varient when u go to the kopitiams...
  jux beware of ga dai in case it's too sweet for you....

  some Malay drink versions:
  
  Teh Alia: Ginger Teh ($1)
  Teh Cino: lots of foam ($1.20)
  Teh Tarik: Pulled Teh ($1)
  
  Milo Dinosaur: Milo with lots of milo powder ($3)

  is tongkat ali a drink ? i remember ppl askin for it , wat is it ar ?

  My queries are here precisely becos i patronise kopi tiam.. the basic ones i know are the teh and kopi and the gao.. but those more advance variants like gah dai, siew dai.. is way over me man..

  Because usually its sweetener they use rather than condensed milk. A little evaporated milk is used to give the teh a creamier texture.

  tongkat ali, is actually a branch of a plant if i'm not wrong. it's said to be a good health drink for men only. u know.. DOWN THERE. yah. but i've nvr tried it before ah..
  
  there's lot of instant tongkat ali coffee mix in supermarkets.
  
  the female version is kacip fatimah.

  just so that we are on this topic.. noticed that the kopi powder and tea leaves/ powder that they used are quite unique.. often seen in large tin cans.. where are the origins? are they a special species of their own? cos you can nv seem to make the same cup of tea you get at the coffee shop if you are to try it say with your own lipton/ boh tea bags at home?
