Haven't tried the local one. But I was in Taiwan earlier this month and had the chance to try the famous one at Shilin Night Market! The one with Chili Powder is soooooo GOOD and BIG! I usually hate fried chicken but this one is really good.
I miss the taiwan food already...
... imitations are never as good as authenic ones... just like our hainanese chicken rice, HK and TW imitates it but doesn't even come close to it! -

anyway one know those sold in taiwan nowadays got bones one??? last time i go all got bones one...not like sg pirated one.. all no bones..... how how anyone know?? i prefer the no bones one actually... i think i will have it for breakfast, lunch, dinner and supper everyday if i can..xiang chi pai. shiok shiok

yes the blue signboard chicken chop is the best. but there is bones towards the bottom of the chicken.
AND YES the guan cai ban is a MUST TRY. Da Chang Bao Xiao Chang (small sausage in big sausage) oso not bad. Basically you can find all the yummy food at Shilin Night market. Also try the Or Lua in Taiwan, it's basically more sweet but still yummy!
agree that the instant noodles are so much better but unfortunately for me, i don't have space in my luggage to stock up those. as for sun biscuits, i prefer hong kong's heng xiang's lao po bing! -
