margarine is a crime against food. its like saying whatever nonsense kraft low fat cheese slice crap is tastyOriginally posted by gasband:In the roasting of coffee beans, normally some will put in butter or margarine to give a better fragrance to the coffee. It is different to adding the butter into your coffee drink. What is the difference? Just think of marination. What would be the difference if you marinate chicken and leave it overnight compared to just adding the marinade minutes before you fry them?
Anyway such roasting methods are not common in Singapore, but alot of coffee roasters in Malaysia do that.
haha i understand what you are saying. But Margarine do give a different taste in your preparation of cooked food for example when you use it to pan fry a chicken fillet. Use butter and u will end up having a very overpowering taste. But if you eat margarine as itself, i agree it sux haha....Originally posted by vito_corleone:margarine is a crime against food. its like saying whatever nonsense kraft low fat cheese slice crap is tasty![]()

the trick is, use a bit of butter and extra virgin olive oil, the oil prevents the butter from burning and less butter will give you a less buttery tasteOriginally posted by gasband:haha i understand what you are saying. good coffee beans have sufficient natural oils that will come out after a good roast, giving it a nice aroma. no need for nonsense like butter during roastingOriginally posted by littlestream:Hmm.........interesting. I would imagine it to be fragrant but wonders about the oil though.
