Good breakfast buffets around ?

  Background story : I am going out with a girl i like on a date. We arranged for a breakfast buffet-outing together next Monday.
  
  Now the thing is, i told her no problem, count on me, i know alot of good breakfast buffet places around blah blah ... but i was actually only Tua Kang-ing. The three places i have been to for breakfast buffet, one is at meridian hotel (horrible), one is the porridge buffet at fullerton there (cannot make it) and another is the English cafe-like one with the big sign "breakfast buffet $9.80+++" opposite Excelsior hotel (choice of food too little).
  
  Now i am desperately in need for good advices on breakfast buffets, forumites. The price doesn't matter as long as it is located in the central area (hopefully bugis, city hall etc or one of the hotels nearby) and more important, it must have good ambience.
  
  Any food guru can suggest any good breakfast buffet to crash? Much appreciated.

  try deli france... about $7 per person for buffet breakfast.... pastries and coffee included... free flow... nice place to start off

  best buffet spread in hawker centre... cheap even if order ala carte
  
  but deli france not many people eat every day... got atmosphere n dun look cheapskate too

  the only "breakfast buffets" i know of are those hotel breakfast buffets .. try any of the major hotels perhaps

  delifrance offers b.fast buffet on fri to sun mornings if i m not wrong...
  
  hmm.. i think royal plaza hotel @ scotts is good. they offer nice buffets all day long
  
  and.. b.fast, lunch n tea time all under $30.

  I am a big fan of hawker food ! But in this case ...
  
  Ambience: Nil
  Buffet: Nil ... well, maybe if i order 30 plates of char kway teow
  The face of my date after my buffet breakfast kang tow turns out to be hawker food -->
  
  Seriously, i was already thinking of just picking one hotel breakfast buffet though but i was crossing my fingers hoping one of you food gurus can suddenly spring a surprise and point out me to a little_known_but_fantastic "european style cafe" or "little deli" hiding in a corner somewhere. No go i guess.
  
  I guess i will just have to stick to either Marriot hotel (Marriot cafe) or the one in Novotel. I have never been to either but if it's very good, i will update those foodies who care. Thanks again.

  From what i remember, Royal Plaza (the main cafe) only start offering buffets from lunch period (i think 11+ or 12) onwards. A pity because the food there is very good and they are really service oriented. I last went there with my parents maybe 1 year ago so the info may be outdated. I will go phone them and if they do offer, that will be my first choice. Thanks !

  ya.. their lunch is great.
  dinner is awesome. haha..but dinner v ex. been thr few times. unsure of breakfast thou but i think they do offer. ring them up n check.

  Shangri-la hotel have, my boss say got very good eggs benedict. Breakfast buffet start at 6 something in the morning, so no lousy excuses for you.
