Why so long the queue?

The other night, while having dinner at east coast lagoon hawker centre, I couldn't help but notice the long queue at the satay beehoon stall. Is the food really that good or is it because the owners purposely take their own sweet time to prepare the food, thereby encouraging a long queue to show others that their food must be good to attract so many people. I've noticed this modus operandi in many so called "good makan stalls". For me, if I have to queue for my food longer than I'd take to eat it, I'll quit and move to another stall. How long would you queue for your food?

i will get someone to queue for me, if not, then i'll buy from somewhere no need to queue.

i don't understand either, and best of all, some stall owners show very bad attitude because their food praised to be good. and everyone queueing just take it down.
and some of these stalls, their food oso not as good as people say de leh. bad service, long queue, so-so food, remote place. wtf. -
I had a bad experience with a pineapple bak kua stall at chinatown during CNY. There was about 20 or so people queuing and when the stall ran out of bak kua, nobody from the stall had the courtesy to tell us we were all waiting in vain. When someone approached the stall owner she told him in an irritating manner in mandarin: "don't have already, don't have already! Why you queue? I never ask you to queue what!" Humph!!

yesterday jus eat the stay bee hoon /... waited 30 min for it ... in the end nv finish ... the sauce very smooth but a bit too bland for me ... not waiting anymore ... next time rather eat duck porridge ... however the beef noodle is very very worth it

It's strange that everyone I met who has eaten at the stall says the satay beehoon is crappy but still the queue is soooooo long. Other stalls that you will regret queuing
1. Corner nasi Lemak at Changi - taste ordinary. In fact the stall that is adjacent has better nasi lemak.
2. Mee Rebus at Parkway - used to have a long queue, not so now. Mee rebus tastes horrible.
3. Bak Chor mee at crawford - nothing special, not worth spending at least 30 minutes waiting
any more to add for the "wait you regret ah" food? -
the satay bee hoon at ecp is edible. nuthg worth Qing up for. evn the wan tan mee stall standard drop liao. wana Q thn try for the beef noodle owned by the old man.

most often the service is slow or the queue is deliberately created for gullible singaporeans

the curry chicken noodles at hong lim got a very long queue but the old lady always very patient and courteous.

I'm an impatient lady, I will not Q for my food @ all, will only hve d patience 2 Q for the stall owner 2 cook my food & that's it. I'm a person who eats meals when i feel hungry, a hungry person is a angry person.

85 bak chor mee not really that fantastic. and seriously everytime i go also nvr wait 1 hour so long. the most is wait 10 mins nia. ur frd abit kua chang leh. even on a sat nite at around 8++ the waiting time is only about 20 mins.
but seriously not very fantastic. pls add to the list of regrets. -
