The Singapore Flavour

  Where would you recommend for tourists (or locals) to experience the Singapore flavour? You know, great food with the Singaporean style. I'd need some information because of an event that i'll be organising and i'm totally clueless as to where the good stuffs are.
  
  Preferred area is around Clarke Quay or accessible from Clark Quay. Hopefully doesn't stray too far from it.

  Area around clarke quay is expatriates flavour, not singapore flavour, unless you want to count chinatown in and liang ji teochew restaurant.

  Because the starting point is from Clarke Quay, so I don't have much of a choice... But I do have a choice in making the participants run all over the place within the time constraint of about 4 hours. I'll just need some recommendations on the good food of our local flavor and something to boast about the multi-racial society in Singapore.

  i think the main event would be anything related to hawker fare.. therefore.. established places like east coast.. newton.. chomp chomp.. all is good.

  the hawker centre at people's park. got alot of nice things there

  Uh huh. It's around that idea... and to promote the local food here. Gotta have to go to these places to try the food out someday...

  Ya I know hawkers... but I'd need recommendations on the better ones. In terms of taste mainly. Like, where to find the best Char Kway Tiao or... Best Roti Prata... you know...
  
  And the event might be opened up to tourist as well, so it may serve well as a good way to promote Singapore
