Ulam - Traditional Malay Salad

  Does anyone know where I can get GOOD ulam? Its a mix of raw vegetables and herbs with sambal balacan.
  
  Or alternatively - can share w me some of the herbs that go into the ulam
  
  I lurve the taste of it.

  but those tt I have eaten in Singapore doesnt serve with the herbs.. can u see that green herb.. what herb issit harrrr

  I'm not sure if I've tried it, but you can try this shophouse nasi padang 'cafe' at either Jln Pinang or Jln Pisang (both next to each other, off Victoria Street). This place sells the kampong type of dishes, including the curried jackfruit pulp, and a dish that consists of fried kampong leaves/vegetable/herbs which I don't see at the usual nasi padang stalls.

  Orrh...this one looks like something I'd eaten in Bali...it came with the fabulous bbq chicken and tantalising sambal. *drooling...*

  Looks like i would go down and check it out....Last time I ate there was a long time ago.

  and somehow the mix of the herbs and coconut and all that just makes it tastes SOOOO DAMNNNN GOOOOOD

  the herbs doesn't taste raw. It has a very fresh taste to it.

  Not eaten before
  Not a huge fan of Malay food
  
  The only Malay food I eat are Mee Siam and Mee Soto and what you call that.... Mee Rebus
  
  If you consider Ayam Penyet a Malay dish that is what I eat too
  
  Hardly eat Nasi Padang stuff
