valentine dinner recommendations

the cycle repeats itself every year, but still, poor guys like me is still expected to come out with refreshing new ideas to take our dear wife/gf to a romantic dinner at our expense....
why is it that valentine day is a guy's show of affection to the ladies and not the other way round ... why? why? why? sob! sob! thot valentine day is to show one's affection to the other party ... irregardless of sex gender.
Anyway, any recommedations with good value($) much sought after ... kum sia. hopefully not too costly ... ard $80+/- for couple. -

But then, women are supposed to do the other way round on 15 March, right? White Day... But again, I guess normally the girls go and buy sweets for the guys...
Uhm, sorry... I may not have a good recommendations for a good place to eat, but... I guess you can go to Boat Quay? Or is it too expensive?
