Who Hate Foodcourts?I luv old old hawker ctr! Food under $2!

nasi lemak $2 - you get 1 chicken wing (which is quite big) and 3 other side dishes
nasi padang from the makcik - chicken wing (marinated in turmeric) + 2 or 3 side dishes $2 or other combinations, she usually says $2
chicken rice $2
wantan noodles, lor mee, char kway teow and fishball noodles - $2 or $3
the vegetarian food stalls also charge $2
in fact, most things are cheap there except the hakka yong tau foo.. that one is chop radish

In my opinion, hawker food taste best at run down, older markets
Esp chicken rice and carrot cake, the simpler the shop the better. Food in a foam box juz taste not so yummy.
Heres wat i discovered:a place where some foods cost less than $2!
Mee Rubus$1.50 up
Carrot Cake $ 1.20 up
Fried Kway Teow $ 1.50 up
The carrot cake was super delicious leh. The eggs very special cos not fry til too chao ta, abit soft, alot cai poh

Great World city used to have a very nice roast duck rice stall... Now I not sure where it more too....

The zuo chao lover can visit Taman Jurong Food center... I just a a big delicious portion of claypot beancurd for $5 ... 5 person meal only less than $25.... I going next week.. Who want to join me??

Tamen Jurong shooping center have another minced meet noodles selling for $2.50 ... Very nice and their homemade chilli sauce can make you cry....
Very easy to find there is 2 coffeeshop but only one selling miced meat noodles.... -

i hate FC but i dont mind hawker....
i usually go to sakae etc etc....
if no hawker.....v asopposed to go FC for lousy food, lousy service; lousy prices!

banquet food court no nice...all the stalls no pork!!!
some local food isn;t nice without pork... like char kway teow without lab cheong... etc -
I once bought a packet of fried rice from the SELECT food store at Compass Point Food Court (the one near library upstairs).
When reach home awhile later found the rice n all ingre had gone bad n smelly
The food court manger say will call back oso never

Lol, I have got a friend who is anti-hawker.
I don't hate food court but like you, I find old hawker centre quite tempting at times.

hi missqi, i usually often go to sakae or dine in any restaurant have my meals. give me a call next time, i'll see if im free i can join you. want?? i very rarely go to the hawker centre unless for some reason. moods changes tho , and i do love to eat chinese food very much. also the maly food nasi lemak and indian roti prata? im very sick eating ramen everyday..Originally posted by missqi:me me me!

actually the food court at Amara hotel arcade is good.
the thai food store (not the asian store sell thai food)
the korean food always long queue
the 2 indian stores are very good
