Taste of Thailand @ Sembawang Shopping Centre

Last Sunday went to tis Sembawang shoping ctr saw tat the whole place kanna shut down for major renovations
Still remember tat 4th floor used 2 hv tis Taste of Thailand selling delicious pineapple fried rice n fried sotong.
Anyone hv any ideas where tis restaurant moved to????

Saw another outlet @ Blk 701A Yishun Ave 5, opp Chong Pang beside KFC.

Used to patronise this shop very often around 10 years ago. I was working at a construction site at Woodland Link Road. Used to bring C.O.W to eat there. Then, they were still at the basement. There was another stall that sell pineapple rice but they served on a pinepapple itself. Business were fierce & this stall, to lure customer, always charge you higher on the reciept & collect round figure. This brings in many customer to bring their client there to eat & claim from their company. For eg, the bill is $87 & the will collect only $80 from you.
But ever since they moved to 4th floor, the standard drop. Most of the dishes they served were cold. More like a mass production cos they have quite a few popular dish like the fried fish, fried sotong, pineapple rice & etc so they cook in very large portion & leave it there to be served. -

Went there for lunch yesterday, it's known as "Bei Sheng Seafood". Checked with the waiter that this restaurant had opened for quite some time already. the only place I eat Thai food is Golden Mile complex but it might be "too" authentic for Singaporeans.

i used to go there with my colleagues
food not say very fantastic but it's damn cheap..i remember the 4 of us ate quite a lot and the bill only came up to $30+
the serving also come quite fast loh...for a restaurant to speak
shd be already prepared and waiting for to be served -

True, Cheap but food quality sucks. The famous fried sotong & fish served cold. Balacan Kang Kong also served luke warm. Sat down less than 5 mins & got served.Originally posted by BufPuf:is it at the 4th floor?

Thai Food? I can only think of Thanying Restaurant and this Purvis Street or was it Seah Street? Two streets behind Raffles Hotel

One more is Aroy Thai along East Coast Road. Very authentic but very ex.

Last week went there and found the shopping centre closed. sigh... Tonight going there to try. Any good recommendation? I remember their fish maw soup was good. What else ? I usually don't order the food ( my wife did ). Aiya... you post came little too late .. I left to fetch my wife sigh ... I park car and she order ... nothing spicy ... wah lau .. I told her we come for Thaifood and nothing spicy ??? Can you imagine, black pepper beef, fish maw soup ( standard drop ), bean sprout, fried soon hock ..... after I complain, then order one bowl of tomyan soup ... angry man ... somemore she say she didn't enjoy it ..Originally posted by DummiesInc:My review is here
