The best sharks fin I've eaten was at Lei Garden in Chijmes few years back on my ROM dinner. It was yellowy-orange in colour. None of the sharks fin I've ever had before and after that measures up to standard to the one I had at Lei Garden. Yum yum yum!!! Still remembers it...Originally posted by ellisbeck:Well, for one, I have been a Shark's Fin fan since young (though I confess I have cut down since the environmental issues cropped up). Precisely because of the environmental issues, I have always thought Sakura has never brought justice to the sharks which were killed for their fins.
Their sharks' fin soup has always been quite terrible. I must say though, Sakura Tampines (at Tampines SAFRA) is relatively better than Sakura Pasir Ris (at Downtown East), but still.. not good enough.
Yes, Sakura Tampines is relatively better than quite a few other branches elsewhere which I have tried but still, there are better restaurants out there. But then, given the price that is charged, I guess the level of quality pegged would not be high anyway.
