Wah Kee Prawn Noodle

Hey anyone else a fan of this noodle? The soup is really shiok. It is in Pek Kio Food Centre.

in the 80s, they were in the hawker centre across the football fields. they moved to pek kio market in the mid 90s bah.
are they still S$5 a bowl?

it's from $3. The last time I tried the soup tasted more of garlic than prawn. My favourite food at the Cambridge Rd Food Centre is the Cambridge Yong Tau Foo. It just has the right balance to tinkle me. Great sauce, great chilli, and Yong Tau pieces that don't look as if they come from a factory. Very under-rated, but what a joy for me to know and eat it.
And yes, there is also a great Chwee Kuay stall there, chunky chye poh and really great chilli to go with it. Understandably, I'm not a fan of Tiong Bahru style Chwee Kuay - its chye poh tastes funny and its chilli is no where near the Cambridge standard. Many people like to down play the importance of using the right chilli. Not me -

If you drop off at Farrer Park MRT station, you will have a rough idea. Consult the street directory at the station. Farrer Park Athletic centre used to be there before they removed it for the MRT development. I still have a good impression of living there, especially when the sport fields were still there.

Hmm Looks good... will try it one day.. So far the only one i know thats very nice is the joo chiat one.. beside the hongkong cafe.

i also at dorset road during the 80s leh. and yesh, i like the yong tau hu also. eh, not forgetting the chai tau kuay ley. the kuay chap, the chay bee hoon. oh my goodness, i am killing myself by making self hungry.

You lived there too? I was staying at Blk 9 Gloucester Rd. Yes, the Chwee Kuay comes in a single plastic tub ( slightly bigger than 4 traditional small cups). It used to cost 70 cts per tub, later 80 cts, but I think the price has gone up to $1.00.
There is also a chinese stall selling mee siam and lontong. I like it too.
