located at Raffles City ground floor, (beside city hall mrt)
staff are mostly good looking and friendly indians, ambience is trendy and modern with red and beige tones, although seatings are a tad too close. And places with 1 sofa seat and 1 normal chair i'll choose the sofa.. but ladies think they sofa's meant for them..
set dinner is $35+ per person.
choice of 3 starters, 4 main courses, any dessert, coffeetea /+wine.
starter i ordered beef carparcio ($14 ala-carte) instead of pumpkin soup or caesar salad.
: A generous portion of very thinly sliced raw beef circles, lightly seasoned with pepper and salt. a column of aragula drizzled well with olive oil brings up the center height. 4 big thin squares of cheese adds a nice complementing taste.
for main course i chose veal scallopini instead of sole w white wine sauce or scallop pesto pasta or chicken cream linguine.
: Again a generous portion of veal, however i much rather have my veal grilled, oven baked or pan-fried to medium well, better to appreciate the tender texture and taste. i liked the full plate of tasty rich brown gravy with mushrooms, not like many other 'fine dining' places which drizzle a little sauce for 'nicer' presentation sake. the mashed potato cake was too unseasoned, just like kfc's is too unseasoned too.
for desserts i got tiramisu and warm chocolate cake and red wine. the red wine was spicy.. maybe shiraz?
tiramisu tastes nice as always, but its flavour pales further after eating the chocolate cake. i prefer tiramisu with brandy / coffee liquor too.
the warm chocolate cake was good, wet in the center, not too sweet or bitter. came with a scoop of ice cream.
coffee and tea came, with the mini pitcher enough to fill 4 cups. i like their hot chocolate drinks too which is pure melted chocolate and a side pitcher of milk to pour in.
my date's satisfied, ME have NOTTI night.
red wine that are spicy should be merlot, as one of the made is spices
