  the crabs are nice but run out pretty fast...
  must book in advance...

  I'm not sure if they allow you to book now
  They used to not allow you to book but the crabs are all sold out sometimes before 7pm ><

  The best chilli crab i feel is at sembawang hills drive.
  
  Also at sembawang hills drive, near the food market there, theres a restaurant called madame Q, serves good western food and superb ambience at good price.

  Cheap and good, junction of Geylang Lor 6 and Geylang Road, a lillte down from FI recommended No Signboard.

  What is Singapore taste?
  
  Everytime I try chilli crab, I get what should be more accurately called, sugar crab.
  I am always told it is to cater to the Singapore taste.
  Sugar is a great ingredient to dull the spices.

  It tastes more spicy, taste of tomato sauce, a little egg taste. Just don't know what else to describe, on the whole it really taste wonderful. So far I have tasted chilli crabs from different places, I love my mum's chilli crab the most, yumi! Finger licking good! Taste great when you dip french loaf into the gravy, shiok!
  
  It should not taste that sweet as like tasting sugar.

  Not siglap lah, the road name I not very sure but its close to Joo Chiat area. Around Tembeling, Koon Seng and the once "famous" Everitt Road there. Siglap area is at most roughly until St Pats there only. After that you are entering Katong liao.
  
  Anyway, there's another place at Jackson Food Centre sell crabs. Weekend go there always a lot of people. There are a few zi char stalls there but you won't miss this stall. It's next to a row of parallel carpark lots. Parking there after 5pm and on sundays is free, so no need worry about "auntie" coming if you drive there. Not too bad lah the pepper crab there. I'm sure its cheaper than those restaurants at UDMC.
