French retaurant in Serangoon Road

  French restaurant in Serangoon Road seems nice
  Thought of trying out but dun know what to order
  Any recommendation

  Well, you can ask the waiter to recommend or just anyhow point at the menu.
  
  There was a French stall at Upp Serangoon Road. I went there once.
  
  The service was horrible. The waiter/waitress refuse to serve you. They were there for show only. You asked them for spoons, they asked that you to take it yourself.
  
  You must go and take your forks and spoons and whatever you want. No customer service at all.
  
  After the makan, you must go queue to make payment at the counter. The staff are just not friendly at all. They behaved like they are doing you a service by selling their food to you.
  
  Food wise, very small portion.
  
  It was my first and last time to eat at the French Stall.

  I have been there a few times but not recently. Service was never that bad. The food portion was quite small as is typical of French cooking but reasonable considering the prices. But I have found the quality varies somewhat.

  Are we talking about the same stall

  The one I referred to was in Upp Serangoon Road, besides a Vegetarian Restaurant. Bearing the stall name - The French Stall. It was no longer there.
  
  So I presume it has moved to the present location you mentioned.

  Dinner for two came up to about $40 or so including some house wine I recall. Maybe a starter as well. Not too expensive considering the chef is a genuine French cook. Had chicken one time which was good but another time the lamb was quite tough.

  He wave to us with smiling face even though we r eating next door 'hock kian mee'
  Saw he on TV 8 in Mark Lee show where 2 ang mo tried to learn chinese

  That was a branch, and it closed some years ago. The main outlet at Sturdee Road is has been there for 5 years now.

  Take the train to Serangoon station, check the map and use Exit G (if I'm not mistaken).
