SINGAPORE: Lau Pa Sat, Singapore’s oldest market, unveiled its new look and hosted the Singapore Food Festival’s opening celebrations on Friday evening.
Following its revamp, the 150—year—old market now has a distinctive retro look of the 1950s and 1960s.
The grand dame featured more than 100 food stalls, serving authentic local fare, accompanied by the smells and sounds of al—fresco dining of a bygone era.
Even the Minister of State for Trade and Industry, Lee Yi Shyan, could not help but get into the full swing of things.
As part of the Singapore Food Festival celebrations, vintage movies will also be screened along Boon Tat Street every evening, so that diners can enjoy a full sensory experience.
