.....I bought a few pieces from one of the bakery in toa payoh, those saltist type. But the skin quite hard, not soft and crispy enough, the filling too saltish also... I suspected the tau sar piah were not freshly baked....
Or, how do you describe an excellent tau sar piah?!?!
Go Cross Street, the shop is in business for more than 20 years, selling good tau sar piah. Opp China Square. During lunch time, business very good. I used to buy when my office was near there. Now I don't know if they are still as good as ever. Anyone has any idea?

It was on TV a number of times but they only recommend the sweet ones. TS asking for salty Tau sar piah. Those tau sar piah taste good initially, after eating for a while get tired of it.

.....I do not like the sweet one, don't eat too many at one go. Try to eat it within one or two days after buying it, taste great when it is fresh from the oven

The shop I mentioned sells both sweet and salty tau sar piah. They have been in business many many years liao. Very well known in the past.
balestier is the place to get the tau sar piah.
They specialised in tau sar piah.
For me, I buy tau sar piah from malyasia mersing, there is a family shop that makes the tau sar piah fresh on the spot and you can see them making it.
dat day, ppl bog for me the balestier one.
but me acherly prefer their pineapple tart.
.....actually I found a bakery in toa payoh central who sell fantastc tau sar piahs, balestier one flat flat, this toa payoh one soft and chubby
Pineapple tarts, yum yum.....
I prefer the pillow ones instead of the sunflower one.
pillow one? u mean filling is inside? that kind is very common in taiwan.
Taiwan ones are squarish pillows right?
I received a gift of one box of taiwan square pineapple tarts beautifully wrapped.
