Organic foods are produced according to certain production standards, meaning they are grown without the use of conventional pesticides, artificial fertilizers, human waste, or sewage sludge, and that they were processed without ionizing radiation or food additives.
Livestock are reared without the routine use of antibiotics and without the use of growth hormones. In most countries, organic produce must not be genetically modified.

oops. got mixed up with fortune centre.
depends you go for health or taste when you eat. For health, organic food is good.
The organic veg at market is very expensive.
organic = healthy is still a myth
still can get cancer, kidney failure, still die
hmm so is there anyone here who eats organic food? i heard NTUC is selling organic veges too. i.e. pasar organic
I believe in organic food benefits. I try to eat organic. Actually only imported organic stuff are expensive, like carrot from Australia (so nowadays i buy the non organic ones, & i just peel them). Green veg like Chye Sim from Malaysia are very reasonable. Cost about $2 - $2.50 per pack.
does not sound reasonable to me at all
Conventional farming uses powerful synthetic pesticides & fertilizers to reduce corp loss to pests. Most of them are poisons, unhealthy for ppl & the enviroment.
Organic farming keeps toxic and chemicals out of the air, water & soil. More workers are needed to deal with weeds, etc.
So maybe that's why its more expensive.- more labour involve, plus they have to deal with pests & disease .
So we must try to support organic farming ! It's good for the environment and everyone on earth.
Organic food don't taste nice..
I rather prepare my own salads....
At most ask for less salt, sugar and MSG...

opps sorry queen, didnt know bout that :)
anyway,
my concern is really, that there is no standard form of certification by the relevant authorities. how would we know that a certain company's certification is up to standard? since there's no standard one given by the local food authorities.
so, why do people still buy even if we are unsure of how certified the product is?
oh yes 3dogs, would you be keen to help me out in a research project for my uni project? i'm currently doing a project on Organic Food production and consumption in Singapore. Hope to gather your views about this, perhaps through email interview or something :)
if you're keen do contact me at [email protected] hope to hear from you! thanks so much :)
I support organic food cos I don like pesticide flavour![]()
