I bought some pancake mix that only need me to add water to it, so how do I cook it ah? I tried to cook earlier today and they came out like crap.
Anyone can tell me about the firecontrol? I'm using normal pan and fire-based cooker
actually, you don't need to buy pancake mix. Just buys eggs, standard flour and fresh milk will do. Then mix well and cook over a hot pan with a tinge of oil. Voila - instant pancake!
did the pancake comes out charred in the centre of the skins, but still soggy inside and breaking apart?
if thats the case, then your fire is too hot. And you pour in too thick a mixture.
Try hot fire to heat up the oil, lower the fire to medium and pour in a thin layer of the mixture water.

And next when you see the pancake show holes that meaning can flick the pancake over to cook the top side le.

I tried again today, this time I made me mixture thicker but it was still quite runny
It didn't have the real pancake look as in it looked more like roti prata. How ah? and flipping over is a pain.
I have no idea how you can make a roti prata out of runny mixture.
Its a try and try again scenerio. you will perfect that skill soon. i hope.
I think cause my mixture not thick enough. I made 1 big 1, the size of a pan. Now my stomach feels like its gonna blow
Ermmm....maybe you need a smaller pan.
i purposely buy a small radius frying pan that is meant o cook eggs.
Cook on low heat. The first couple or so you'll toss out, after that, they'll come out nice. I use butter instead of oil to coat the pan. Don't put too much batter on the pan. Make smaller ones first. You'll get better as you go along.
if you arent good at flipping them, get a big enough plate to cover the pan, flip over the pan itself with the pancakes and slide the new side pancake back into that pan
And dont have too much oil in the pan or it will flow out when you flip your pan, you dont want to splatter everything and everyone with hot oil.
Standard flour means mian fen ? Can tell me the proper name in english ?

Flour is just the standard one. Another one is self-raising flour with baking powder added to it.
Those that only require you to add water are the worst, from my experience.
I always get the ones that need me to add eggs, and milk to it, and they usually turn out fantastic. The only thing I hate about making pancakes is the clean up.![]()
Get the mixture done well, no clumps and bits, get a ladle and scoop a size smaller than your frying pan, make sure the pan is really hot before that, otherwise that goo will just stick, and then you have trouble scooping to the other side once the surface starts to bubble.![]()
just bought two silicon pancake mould in the shape of mickey mouse at Disneyland Resort......guess I will be making pancakes soon. With real maple syrup from canada
Will buying those waffle-making machine help?
