The Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority says Singapore does not import eggs from China.
Most of the eggs available here come from accredited poultry farms in Malaysia, while the others come from local chicken farms.
The AVA adds that processed egg products from China are also not sold in the retail market.
To ensure national food safety here, AVA says they conduct stringent process of regular reviews, accreditation and inspection of source farms, abbatoirs and food-processing factories.
This comes after authorities in Hong Kong announced they found contaminated eggs imported from China.
Hong Kong authorities say they're expanding their tests to include meat as animal feed has been found tainted with a derivative of melamine. -938Live
