Has anybody visited the teahouses in Chinatown before? As in, those that serve a wide variety of Chinese tea...
I'd like to know what it's like, what they serve besides tea, whether they have tea appreciation courses and the cost...
Thanks in advance! ![]()

According to the expert, caffeine stays in the body for 16 hours. I can't sleep at night when I take coffee during day time.
what kinda teas are "light"? dunno wanna have something and then stay wide awake at night
Dont think really got light tea.
Just consume moderately.
i am able to sleep even when i drink tea/coffee at night lol
i'm more or less ok with coffee, sleep wise. it's the tea that can sometimes wreck havoc.
been to the neil road one many many years ago
tt time still can sio hoon ki i think
sit on the floor one
drink tea and play chess

Oh, sweet! Thank you so much!
For Tea Chapter, do they have classes/workshops for individuals? The ones listed on their website are called "Corporate Packages"... do they apply to the normal walk-in customers too?
Actually, I don't think I want/need courses... =X
Ok I'll pop there next week.
i've been to one a long long long time ago!
they served tea-eggs too! but i don't remember which one i went to >.<
was a primary school trip.....
me last time got go tea chapter oso.
oso got buy home for papa.
Been to both I think......
There was even one that was a karaoke joint?
Tea eggs, mini mooncake and goza......but the goza like so not nice.
Anyway, I like tea stuffs, so probably will buy another set of chinese tea sets with wood base, bamboo holders, kettle and burner......then those japanese tea sets when I am in those countries.
Difficult to find traditional cheap Silver English tea sets.
Was liking those chinese black tea that is infused with ginseng, but that one either hard to find, or found similar one but taste horrible.

They do, but I am not sure about it now. Call them to check. Not sure if it is still owned by Chen Shu Cheng
Chinese tea got the siap siap feeling one...
I went there leow!
Four people... and we sat at the Korean seats or something.
There was a minimum spending of $24, and the special seats incurred an additional $5.
My parents ordered two kinds of tea, which came up to about $30... and we also ordered osmanthus tea jelly and pu-er jelly. The Pu'er jelly was nice, but I found the osmanthus tea jelly a little too hard to be yummy.
There was a 10% discount cos my mom had a POSB card... so in the end, for four people, the bill came up to about $35.
My dad complained about the water there, because the water is kept warm by some alcohol burner, which cannot be adjusted to bring the water to a boil... Apparently for some teas, you use hot water and for some teas, you use boiling water...
The quality of the tea there isn't so good, but I will definitely go back there again... cos I like the place... and how you can sit there for a long time and slowly brew your tea.
Glad to know that you like it there.
