Besides cutting into strips n dipping into flour n egg batter n deep fry....
besides steaming it n cutting into pieces n dip into crushed peanuts or shredded coconut meat
got what other tasty ways to cook 'nian gao'??
coz i had many leftover nian gao from chinese new year n i dunno what to do with them.
yes, my beloved mama loved to dip into egg and fried it.
Probably, u can make it round and stuff filling inside and fry it
muz wait for it to turn mouldy.
kitty today cranky
Some is put a thin slice of taipioca next to it, dip both in egg batter and fry both sticking together.
And HK is right, the nian gao need to turn mouldy, which is 'Far Mei', meaning prosperity. Keep one for that purpose.
Can eat the rest.
Cut into small pieces , mix with grated coconut then eat very nice . My mum used to fry it but after she heard pple recomending it and she tried , find that very nice lor . Nicer then frying it .
