Hi all, any one know any great places for makan breakfast at Hougang?
I find the economic fried mee/ rice outside hougang mall not bad... can try....
i find the $1.50 chicken rice there very cheap
kovan hawker centre has many yummy stuff..
like the wanton mee, but it only opens around noon..
mee siam etc..

kovan got the heartland mall... from the entrance, walk to the north is mcdonald's.
the shop is to the east of heartland mall.... Can visualise?
the small coffee shop izzit? that is beef hor fun or beef noodles?

as far as i remember is beef noodles and not hor fun leh..
but that small coffeeshop the char kway teow and 2 dollars chicken rice is damn nice also.
My picks are zhi char, fried hokkien prawn mee and wanton mee at Kovan hawker centre, but not for breakfast...hehe....

The mee siam stall offers bee hoon and mee in the early hours. I find the bee hoon so good you could eat it on its own.
Last time when I was a primary school kid, the same stall offered laksa at lunch time.![]()
The carrot cake is also good, but always need to wait very long, I like it black with chili on sunday mornings.![]()

eh i prefer the beehoon from the peanut porridge stall though..
the carrot cake is expensive and small portion!

btw e simon road hokkien mee always seems to be closed
the carrot cake at the junction of upp serangoon and simon road very nice. But don't eat there when it's raining unless you want to get wet..

No, I talking about the hawker centre at kovan near macs.
Simon road hokkien mee is only closed on sundays and mondays.![]()
