i wonder how useful is grading system... once a year then got grading... you think seeing a place got A and B then it is safer already meh?
Preventing food posioning is more than just keeping places spick and spank. Its requires constant learning to prevent and minimise the chances of posioning.
Seriously, I will not be surprised if a A grading stall cause food posioning. Out of those 4 stalls per year that causes posioning, how many of them are grading a? or b?
it is a true that C grading shop has higher chance of causing food posioning then A, but getting an A still does not mean that stall is safe.
if the food nice, they so busy so a bit no time to keep cleaning up the place, so got C
if the stall no one patronise one, they eng eng cheng cheng wipe here mop there wash here clean there, so get A
you might even say this... because the food is dirty, so people see already dun dare to eat... so the owner very free, so he clean his stall since he got nothing to do, then inspector come.. wah so clean .. give A.. so people see A.. wah... all come eat... owner then too busy and his stall become dirty again.. but his stall is still A for one year ...
i suspect that grading is not correlated to how safe is this stall's food.... the govt and NEA needs to revamp their grading system..
i think we go eat bcos of the food nice or not, not bcos of the ABC.
seriously, who relli go see the stall is A B or C?
i will see the A/B/C when i am Q-ing for my phood!!!!
or, if im the only one 'in line' and don't have to wait, i'll look for the A/B/C while waiting for my food. haha

some people in singapore eat food only if the stall has B or A one, espeically the rich people...
i dunno how many percent of singaporeans are like that... maybe 2 percent, which is quite alot of people already. lets says 4 million singaporeans, its a 80000 liao loh.
just a headup,
for stalls graded A and B, they are still subjected to NEA inspection every 8 weeks.
whereas for stalls graded C and below, they are subjected to NEA inspection every 6 weeks.
NEA uses a demerit point systems, stalls ganna penalty too much, they ganna suspension so whether business good or not, they still need to maintain their cleanliness standards.
Why the prejudice against C grade?
C grade is also higher than average. A and B are only higher above average than C.
Those without grades, have their licences, that means they are passable enough to be licenced.
I dun care about grades one... frankly speaking. Nothing is impossible....
