you can go and study at Shatec after which u work at a hotel or some restaurant as a helper for 7++ years, then u become a senior chef, then u earn $50,000 per day if u work at some hotel.

ok, i was exaggerating about the pay part... but it's a lucrative career. get the Top Recipes book by Todd Wilbur for a good start.
It has the emulated recipe for best soup served at large restaurant chains.
Tip: learn the rare dishes and be a freelance cook -
What kind of food u want?
Can try taking a course at Raffles International. It's Nitec in Culinary Skills, western. It's a earn as u learn thing.
Duration 2 yrs, there's off the job training and on the job training. I guess they will give u allowance for the on the job training at different hotels.
U will learn basic food preparation, soups, meat, fish, seafood, baked food, buffets, service quality etc.....
course fee ard $4200.
If u are the top 10% of the cohort, raffles will have a career waiting for u at one of their hotels (eg, swissotel westin, raffles hotel) & resorts.

Actually first of all... chose the type of cusine u wanna learn...eg. chinese italian etc ... go to those resturant or hotels dealing with it ... start from scratch... after 1 or 2 years when u master the basic ..go overseas ... but it will be very very very tough ... i think that this is one good way for my career...what do you think??? wish u luck manz...

hmmm...what type of local food u are interested?? maybe can try out those coffeeshops first if u dun mind ...
