Yesterday I have lunch at a food court.
I ordered a plate of mee goreng at a stall for $4.30. There is not much ingredients in it only a few piece of fishcakes and a prawn. I eat finish only like half full nia.
Today I went back to the same food court and same stall but ordered different things to eat.
I ordered a meal call pepper sauce fish or something like that. Cost $4.50. Have fish, rice and egg. Eat already I fill quite full.
So how exactly do the hawkers/stall owners calculate the price of the fodd that they sell?
The mee goreng cost $4.30 but eat already not full and the pepper sauce fish meal cost 20 cents more but eat already will be full.
So most people who go to that stall will not chose mee goreng because eat already not full unless of course they are eating it for the carving only
Factor in also any food intake you might already have consumed beforehand, that may make the results of your test inconclusive.

Both were eaten during lunchtime at 1pm and on both day I did not eat anything beforehand
Factor in mood.
A bit bo liao leh you... if you crave for a particular food, it does not neccessary make you full with one serving. If you want cheap and good, cai pen is definitely your choice of food. Stop whining over small matters, okay?
what is ur point? mee goreng sucks?
i buy century Egg Congee onli $2, eat finish , i full lia0
order $4 beehoon. sure full
Honestly speaking, I'd rather pay a few dollars more and dine at Macdonald's.
Sometimes I regret after doing so as I'll need to exercise more to burn off the excess calories.
Mac also might not be filling...
the way the hawker determine the selling got nothing to do with the cost of food as it cost very little but how much he needs to make a day.
If he sell 50 plates a day. Than he factor in rental and his personal needs.
So most of the time you are paying his rent and service of preparing food.
I'd rather go hawker centers or restaurants but not foodcourts.

Sometimes your work place got no hawker centres so you have to eat at foodcourt
The prices at food court are getting more and more expensive. Hard to get $3. Mostly $3.50, $4.00 and higher.
And the worse is most of the time the food taste in food courts suck
