Singapore, August 7, 2009 - Derived from a cooking method where the rice is soaked in coconut cream, nasi lemak literally means “rice in cream”.
It is usually wrapped in banana leaf, together with cucumber slices, ikan bilis, roasted peanuts, an egg and sambal chilli. Chicken wings and otah otah are often added to it. The sambal chilli is usually the make-or-break factor for nasi lemak.

Actually i prefer the rice at Adam Road to CV 1 for traditional malay cooked Nasi Lemak... CV Nasi Lemak rice abit too soft for my liking...
I dun travel for food... just now had nasi lemak for dinner from hawker center near my house...
i have tried the Boon Lay nasi lemak as my parents stay at Boon Lay, i would recommend you to try it at least once.

i prefer those bus interchange selling 80cents, wrapped in banana leaf ones.
I prefer the 'Qi Ji' nasi lemak, is nice. ![]()
yesterday i bought a packet of nasi lemak from Bengawan solo, quite ex ($2), and the chillie is nice.
