It is not sugar, Vark, sometimes referred to as Silver leaf. it is edible but mostly tasteless ingredient used to garnish Indian Confectionary. The sugary taste comes from the actual confectionary, not the vark. Pretty common in almost all Indian esrts, sweets.
not harmful to eat it
at most pass out from u after the silver/gold travel thru ur stomach, intestines
sometimes this tasteless vark is mixed with icing sugar.
hmmm... then this vark isnt expensive????

it doesn't it's there for looks and to up the expensive "feel"
gold is ok to eat in very small amounts becuse it's inert but there really isn't much point in doing so.
