Let's say that you're out on the town for a meal...
If you're not happy with the food one way or another, would you get up and leave it untouched? Or does your conscience tell you not to waste it?
I'm not just talking about half-cooked, dirty or burnt food. It could be as trivial as using cheese sauce or margarine, tough meat or tiny portions.
food come already, unless it really darn sucks, i'll probably eat what i can. only time i ever walked out from a restaurant was when the food didn't come after an hour of waiting.
Well depends... if hawker centre in malaysia, I dun think they'll bother... If it's a nice posh resturant somewhere in Paris or Moscow, I'm sure u can give some feedbacks...
I dun like to waste food and am not a picky eater, but i wont touch them if they taste really horrible...
my colleague once walked away from a meal when she realised she left her handbag in the office which her purse was inside...
Erm prob will eat unless it's horrible, uncooked and veyr unhealthy and such. Don't want to waste money getting another meal.
Or do you mean leave without paying?
Eat a bit.. complain up and down .. pay and go.
I'll eat it. No point wasting food. Especially considering there are people out there who have to make do with much less.
That being said, I have thrown hissy fits over food prepared badly in the past and refused to touch it. Looking back, that was kinda childish.

That would be rather unethical. Most of the time we pay for food before we get to taste or even see it.
I was quite tempted to do that a few days ago even though I was hungry (and so are millions of kids around the world). I paid $6.50 and still got a small burnt piece of chicken, EZ cheese and a miserable excuse for "garden salad". In other countries I would've felt entitled to throw the food into the drain or at the shop window. I ate it anyway.
Well, whenever I get horribly-cooked food, I just take a deep breath and shove it down the hatch. No point wasting food which I've already paid for. Even if I haven't paid for it, I'd look like a spoilt brat for refusing to eat something I've ordered.
Of course, I would never return to that place again.
I don't do that ..... but patches does, all the time ......

If we exclude walking away without paying in protest of really bad food, then I would finish it unless it's really bad.
Like in your case if the chicken is really burnt black, I won't eat it for health reasons. Actually in such cases where the food is unedible (totally burnt, raw, etc) I would have gone up to the manager and ask for either a replacement or a refund.
Of course after that I won't ever go back to the place again.
send it back to the kitchen.

Nose! What if they add special ingredients to it? :S
what you won't know won't kill you! haha =p
but generally, if you're not too unreasonable and are polite, it usually won't happen.
on the other hand, if you're an asshole, they'll add extra ingredients to whatever they want. [like, they'll spit into your cup of water]
i am not particular about my food
unless its extemely disgusting
like omg buffalo wings at brewerks which caused my lips to pucker up
what if they're assholes and do something to your food even though you've been nice and pleasant? :x
i was so worried when once, at some HK cafe, my brotherinlaw said a plate of noodles was too salty and the manager came over, tried it and declared it was not too salty. He insisted for it to be redone anyway. :s

i felt like i am eating a bowl of lemons
Well, in the past I would just refuse to eat it if it’s not prepared to my taste
But these days, I would attempt to try finish it because I know that there are a lot of people who are starving
Heck, I don’t even have to look far. I have seen people packing leftover food from the hawker centre because the person who ordered the food didn’t finish it.
The only thing I will not do is to order from the store again.
Of course, if I’m paying through my nose for the food, I will definitely provide feedback!
ya. lets not waste food. think of ppl in some other countries who eat one meal a day or those who dun even have food to eat.
Id just eat it, afterall i had paid for the food.... But likely not finish it. And wont patronize the restaurant again.
If it's sth like burnt, then id ask for a replacement.
