And cutting the butter takes some skills.
I prefer the butter with the stars logo one.
And must let sit from the fridge for 1/2 hour at least before cutting it thinly with thin fishing lines.....So its still firm and keep to its square shape and can sit pretty like a tower after all's been cut and replaced back into the fridge for easier removal and put onto the toast.
Not many people have the time to do the kaya nowadays, but still can find at some traditional bakery for the traditional home made kaya.
For those who absolutely need to make their own kaya, because they have the interest and time. Can always check out for recipes online.

Reminds me of butter sugar toast~~~~
nothing beats a home made meal for the mornings. unless you've got no time to prepare
Kaya Butter Toast and even soft boiled eggs are actually not difficult to prepare.
But like all asian food, it still involve a lot of preparation and unless you have the discipline to sleep early and wake up early to prepare for it. You will prefer the convenience of eating out.
kaya is bloody hard to make. if you think standing by the stove and stirring for hours is your thing, you might like making your own kaya.
