If you have chance, dont buy white rice from supermarket....
Buy red rice....
Red rice is better and more superior....
Red rice has more nutrition....and also has a low Glycemic Index.....meaning the sugar will be absorbed more gradually by the body.....
If you eat white rice......you feel full fast.....and then you will also feel hungry earlier...
Red rice will be more gradual.....
So this is good and suitable for everybody, including diabetic people.
But even if you are not diabetic, it is also good for u.
Especially if you tend to feel sleepy after eating lunch / dinner, try red rice. You will not feel sleepy anymore.
Of course, even if you dont care about all this, red rice has another advantage of having more nutrition, because white rice is actually a kind of processed / polished rice.
Taste is also good and unique, it is a kind of nutty.
So if you go to supermarket.....dont forget...buy red rice.
do you mean red brown rice??
糙米 rite?
I saw on TV a few days ago there is a franchised shop from Taiwan at Square 2 at Novena that sells 12 different types of cooked rice with fillings eg prawns, vegetables etc. The customer will choose the fillings and the salesgirl will roll them up.
Has anyone tried it ? Is it nice ?

Red rice is red rice, brown rice is brown rice.
You can try red rice or brown rice. In terms of nutrition, they are somewhat similar.
The difference is mainly taste and texture.
Usually in supermarket, you can see red rice and also brown rice.
You can choose which one you like.

a small packet costs about $3 or more.
white rice is good for fried rice and porridge because it's better at absorbing flavours. that's the only time i'll willingly eat white rice. otherwise, i prefer the taste/texture of other kinds of rice...
i don't normally take rice but when i do, it's brown rice or risotto. never tried the red version yet.
do u mean red yeast rice or red rice?
i am sure what i heard on laylio was red yeast rice
ill stick with my white grain... my parents love brown ones.
Ok. My mum almost cook this type of brown red rice everyday for the past 3 years or more. I am very curious about the adverse side effect it may bring when my feel is to stick to the normal traditional white rice.
Can any health-concious person help to answer my query?
