Jackfruit

  i bought some today.  it stinks when i open the flesh to remove the seed inside.

  any idea why?

  is it edible?

  the texture and appearance appears just the same as those i used to buy.

  my sister said its probably too ripe.  but my understanding is it becomes orangish and looks watery if too ripe.

  .....mostly likely you were given an over night one, not fresh. Sometimes the vendors kept the unsold jackfruits in the fridge, so the next day they took it out, water condenses, that's why the jackfruits appeared watery and got a smell. Still can eat, but don't taste good. As for me, I would throw away or go and exchange

  i think so too.

  i probably bought those unsold yesterday.

  with the weather this hot its no surprise...

  i patronise this stall regularly.

  i have a weak stomach.
