Bad experience at Dover Road

I went to this new hawker center along commonwealth ave under a block of new flats just after Singapore Poly...... I can say I had one of the WORST lunches i ever had in my life!! It started with this lady from the thai food stall approaching me as I walked past..... she said her Pineapple Rice is nice... blah blah blah.. all the good talk..... so i fell for it and ordered with my friend.... well.... the pineapple rice turned out to be pukeable!! it was sooooo oily, dry, and full of flosses.....
that was ok then...... a few minutes later i struggled to finish my meal, my throat had one of the most horrible encounters...... bad acids from the rice went up..... it wasnt one of those where u eat chili then u burp the stuff goes to ur throat..... this was WORSE!!!! to the extent I immediately lost my voice!!!
The next few days was followed by bad bad flu (not related to SARs) along with lotsa yellow mucus........ lots and lots of them!!!! This is double confirmed when my other friend got it too....
I will never ever ever eat Pineapple rice again..... its not the dish's fault though.... and... someone call the Ministry of Environment!!

We all have our own bad experiences.
That of course does not mean we blame the food!
Pineapple rice is an excellent thai delicacy. You just suffered from a retailer out to make a quick buck rather than engaged in the passion for cooking sumptous food.
Take my word for it pineapple rice isn't bad. You just need to find some better places to eat it.
And btw, i've not known dover road to be a place to start...

Try the Dover market at the but stop just after ACS. Take bus 74 from SP down towards B. Vista. Stop at the primary school cross the road walk into the wet market there'll be a hawker center. Curry chicken there sold by this auntie is super good, and a meal there can come back in time one, that is if they're not too busy that your food takes too long. But me and my friends usualy come late to class from there.

that coffee shop's stalls mostly cannot make it one ah.....dun bother to go there....
