Why is the wanton noodle at Old Airport Road Hawker food Centre so famous ?
I went down to try the wanton noodle but I find it ordinary, nothing special.
Anyone can enlighten me why is this stall's wanton noodle so special and famous ?
I have also tried the big prawn noodle (a few stalls away) and I like the prawns very much as the prawns are fresh and soft, and I like the prawn soup too. So, I ordered another bowl after I finished the first bowl.
Cheers.
Got name or not the stall? Or we're supposed to go there and see?
Sorry, I did not remember the names of the stalls.
I have heard that there are many nice food stalls at the Old Airport Road Hawker Food Centre, so I just went down to try the food.
The wanton noodle stall has many newspaper cuttings and posters from the various food TV shows and somemore the stall uses the electronic numbering system just like the doctor, so I give it a try but I find that the wanton noodle ordinary, nothing special.
After finishing the wanton noodle and I walked past some people and saw many people eating the big prawn noodle, so I give it a try too and I like the prawns very much as the prawns are fresh and soft, and I like the prawn soup too. So, I ordered another bowl after I finished the first bowl.
Cheers.

dont worry, you are not the first to be unimpressed by the wonton mee stalls there.
its a matter of preference.
its not unusual to find certain stalls ordinary but others praise it like mad.
taste is bery subjective wat.
But the general consensus agrees that fei fei makes the best wanton mee, just the mee.

Old air port road hawker foods are overrated.
I too go there and try the minced meat noodle and fried kway teow. Nothing special, all those taste I can easily got it in West of Singapore too..
Put so many newspaper cutting and report are all usesless.
The stall at Beach road hawker are even worst. All are bad taste. All fake one, I believe all the news report has been paid.
Hanor, to be honest, the best places to eat are never ever shared. We'll just name you the 2nd or 3rd best, we don't want a crowd at our favourite places.
King of Porridge is also in Old Airport Hawker Food Centre.
I like the smoothness of the porridge and the century eggs but the meats don't have the "crunch feeling".
