  If you compare the prices of raw pork belly last year around this time and now, prices has increased by  at least 50%

  Prices go up because rental goes up. & rental in SG is pretty spectacularly ridiculous. Read in a post somewhere that some hawkers are pledging to maintain their prices in the face of rising costs. Someone brgt up an excellent point then - what about the govt ? Is the govt also gg to do its part and not increase rental costs ? Our govt is unfortunately so fixated on increasing their budget surplus that they can't focus on the welfare of the people. I mean, they earn a million dollars a year on ERP ?? & they are considering raising the GST ? I do agree that we shouldn't cross subsidize industries / functions but perhaps they should stop fleecing the people. & they wonder why all the nations' talents flee the country
