Ok, not just bread spreads since we can also spread them on our biscuits, cakes and faces, if thou fancies.
What bread spreads do you have at home?
- butter
- margarine
- some other oil-based spread
- cream cheese
- garlic bread spread
- peanut butter
- marmite/bovril
- hazelnut spread (e.g. Nutella)
- fruit jam/preserves
How often do you replenish them?
Which are your favorites?
What other 'exotic'/unusual bread spreads do you use? e.g. honey, ketchup, gochujang paste, black pepper sauce
For me, I have:
- Lurpak spreadable butter
- Olive Grove spread
- right now, some Buttercup spread
- apricot jam from Crabtree & Evelyn
- Hero black cherry preserves
- AXL marmalade
- AXL raspberry jam
- Nutella
- Skippy peanut butter
- kaya (dunno wat brand)
I also have a bottle of Marmite at home, which only my brother uses.
I like to spread pesto on my bread when I have ham sandwiches.
I only buy Skippy peanut butter, and I hate the chunky variant cos it's difficult to spread.
The fruit preserves are usually gifts - I never buy them cos they are not bread-spread-friendly, though I like them on my biscuits or I make fruit tea with them. I always go for the cheap jelly kind. I like grape jelly.
My favorite is peanut butter sandwich with jam.
And I eat out from the Nutella bottle.
exotic?
melted cadbury bar (small amount) + cinnamon stick (+ little bit of milk if required) in a heated pan...
I usually use this as dip or sometime use it to put over my bread...
There's another spread, though actually it's more like topping...
sliced sausage (not taiwan sausage) + chilli sauce + tomato sauce... The secret is the ratio of chilli sauce : tomato sauce...
then I'll use it as a topping for the bread... Oh sooooo very good on hot toasted bread... I use them as filling in a bread with a sandwich maker... it's sooooo good...
Edited: imagine those triangle sandwich maker, where u put in 2 slice of bread and it will toast it into 2 triangle shapes one and sealed the edges... imagine biting it and inside contains steaming hot, spicy and sweet sausages + sauce... :D~~~~
margarine
nutella
honey spread good on french Bread.
Peanut butter.
And I'm not sure if this counts, but I like bread with Ayam brand chilli tuna.
dunno still got or not, but last time have Ayam chilli ikan bilis in a can - put that on one slice of bread, fold an eat......belly nice when i was young.
nutella also very nice....but after finish bread, very tempting to have extra dose of Nutella by itself, then cannot stop afterwards.
2.55 is a nice bag many die for
i occasionally put salted veggies with bread

i put luncheon meat with tomato sauce
i put fried eggs with chilli sauce

st dalfour is good....high fruit content, but sometimes taste not as nice as some other (less natural) brands.....especially the balance of sweetness for me.
sometimes i put slice banana then cheese on top....then grill.
