Hi all, would like to caution everyone as to ordering chilled or frozen items from NTUC Online as I have had several bad experiences with it. I would make my order and receive the delivery with the products in bad condition. Common sense dictates that leaving items like frozen meat and fresh milk out in the heat will cause spoilage,so why is NTUC delivering these items without the usage of chiller trucks?
My neighbour said that he saw the deliveryman from NTUC removing my order from the back of a NON-refrigerated van and bringing it up to my house. Imagine fresh milk and frozen meat placed in the back of a stuffy and hot van for hours before being delivered. I believe the item won't be in a very good state when it is finally delivered to the customer.
I have ordered from Cold Storage as well and from what I know, they make use of refrigerated trucks to make their deliveries. Shouldn't NTUC do the same to maintain the freshness of their products? Isn't this double standards? I would very much like to know who authorized the use of these non-refrigerated trucks for deliveries in NTUC Online. This is clearly against NEA food hygiene standards! And they call themselves a trusted brand!
If Cold Storage delivers frozen food to your neighbour with a referigerated van and to you in a non-referigerated van then that is called double standard.
But not when it is between Cold Storage and NTUC.
Now you know they each have their own method of delivery.
Next week, where are you going to buy frozen or chilled food from?
Yes that's true, but if that's the case then everyone might as well buy their groceries from Cold Storage instead. At least this way we get our food fresh. But NTUC is an established brand and do have several awards for their food quality and safety, shouldn't they live up to their promise of delivering fresh food?
Next week I'm going to order from NTUC again to see if their standards have improved. If my items arrive all looking like they have been left in the back of a stuffy, hot truck for too long, you can be sure I'll go to the authorities on food health safety.
erm TS, here is not NTUC u noe
Yes I do know, thank you. I've already given my feedback to NTUC about this issue and they have yet to respond. I'm just sharing with everyone here about my experience with their less than adequete delivery system.
