What is cess charge?

  let's say if the price is 18+++, then it includes service charge, gst and cess charge right? what is cess charge huh? got 18++++ or not?

  did u eat it in a hotel? all hotels have to cite cess charge to your bills

  no... i went for the tim sum buffet at harborfront. the restaurant is 4th level, in the corner of the carpark. just trying to figure out what i'm paying for...

  haha restaurants have to pay entertainment taxes so the cess charge goes to government.
  
  If you are not satisfied with the service, you can argue and refuse to pay the service charge

  haha just ur luck to eat there... where tourists gather to eat or stay... they have to incurr cess.. Harbourfront attracts tourists mah..

  Cess is a tax levied at the rate of 1% on all Cessable items sold by tourist hotels, tourist food establishments and tourist public houses. It is collected by the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) under the Singapore Tourism (Cess Collection) Act.
