good western food anyone?

  Hi
  have anyone got nice western food to introduce?
  coffeeshop or cafe its fine..not too expensive but places like jacks place is 1 that i have thought of which is rather affordable.
  Going to have a v.tine dinner but atmosphere isnt much of importances here.. anyone got any recommandations please let me know thanks in advance..

  swesen to me taste real bad...been to swensen 8times for food this 2yrs... 5 times food taste bad.. 3times still ok,ate fish and chip.

  Here is a nice English recipe for a traditional dessert called 'Bread & Butter Pudding".
  
  12 medium slices of white bread
  
  50g unsalted butter
  
  8 egg yolks
  
  175g caster sugar
  
  a few drops of vanilla essence
  
  ½ pint of mils
  
  ½ pint double cream
  
  25g sultanas
  
  25g raisins
  
  Butter the bread on both sides & remove the crusts, cut in half diagonally to create triangles
  Whisk the egg yolks and caster sugar together in a bowl
  Put vanilla essence, milk and cream in a pan and bring to the simmer and sieve it onto the egg yolks, stirring all the time.
  This is the custard.
  Arrange the bread in layers in the basin, sprinkle with sultanas and raisins in between layers.
  The final layer of bread should not have and raisins or sultanas.
  Pour the warm custard over the bread, and leave to soak in for 20 minutes.
  Pre-heat the oven to 180 degrees.
  Once the bread has been soaked for 20 mins, place the dish in a roasting tray three quarters filled with warm water.
  Lightly cover with buttered foil and put in oven.
  Cook for 20 to 30 minutes until pudding begins to set. It shouldnÂ’t become too firm.
  Remove from oven and sprinkle liberally with caster sugar then graze until the grill.
  The sugar will caramelize.
  
  ThatÂ’s all. Enjoy.

  Shashlik Restaurant is at 545, Orchard Road #06-19
  Far East Shopping Centre( next to Singapore Hilton).
  Their borsch soup is nice
  It is also run by a group of old folks and price around same range as Amigo's (I think)

  a friend recommended the place, and i didn't know it was called Shashlik until i got there i like the desserts
