it's best for a cheap and fast meal....Originally posted by rongshao85:pastamania is still the best!
haha.. its not cheap at all lah.. its juz that the company wanted to provide good quality and affordable pasta to all consumers.. u think everyone can afford to dine in pasta fresca and pontini?Originally posted by FireIce:it's best for a cheap and fast meal....
but i would still go for pasta fresca or pontini....for REAL quality pasta.....
piazza oso not bad.....
oh same here i love prawns and shrooms too cos the sauce is made up of prawn bisque and a touch of cream sauce.. as for pesto its the rhine nuts tat make it so niceOriginally posted by Kuali Baba:The food at Pastamania is generally acceptable to me.
Prawns and Shrooms and Pesto are my picks. Al fughni is light but you mostly taste the cream. The pizzas are on the wrong side of dryness, though, I seldom order them.
One gripe....when I take-away the soups, the servings need to be more generous!
My experience... if you have try pasta in Italy before, you know that Pastamania is not authentic pasta.Originally posted by rongshao85:yoz guys.. ever tried the food in pastamania? how was it? care to share yr experiences?![]()
why did u say that? any elaboration?Originally posted by Jason Bourne:My experience... if you have try pasta in Italy before, you know that Pastamania is not authentic pasta.![]()
Too much gravy. Authentic pasta supposed to bring out the texture of the pasta and not focus on the gravy.Originally posted by rongshao85:why did u say that? any elaboration?
Do you wish to eat a pasta that is dry? most prefer it with gravy right? Oh by the way, pastamania don't use MSG. Please get your facts right before commenting. Thanks!Originally posted by Jason Bourne:Too much gravy. Authentic pasta supposed to bring out the texture of the pasta and not focus on the gravy.
Also, I find a bad after-taste after eating it. Perhaps there is MSG or too much garlic.![]()
Thanks for the info. So no MSG but it still give me the strong lingering after-taste. don't know why.Originally posted by rongshao85:Do you wish to eat a pasta that is dry? most prefer it with gravy right? you are most welcome! Rest assured, Pastamania don't use MSG in their food.Originally posted by Jason Bourne:Thanks for the info. So no MSG but it still give me the strong lingering after-taste. don't know why.
I guess SG generally like to eat their food with more gravy hence the pasta here is generally more wetter. But that will be missing the authenticity of eating pasta.![]()
Found this on the web.Originally posted by rongshao85:you are most welcome! Rest assured, Pastamania don't use MSG in their food.
If you don't really believe what i say, u can give them a call or maybe drop by to get the affirmation from the outlet chefs over there.
As for the gravy thing, i agree becos most singaporean don't take dry pasta as they think pasta taste better with gravy. but for me, i prefer to take dry pasta esp aglio olio with ham, roasted chicken, green pea and prawns.![]()

Too bad I'm not in SG most of my time to try. Furthermore, my girl doesn't like pasta...![]()
Right now, I"m in HK most of the time. Was staying in Venice on and off for the past 2 years so I got to taste the pasta there. That's why I know there is a difference between what's offered in SG and Italy.Originally posted by rongshao85:oh thanks for the webby! anyway where are u living now?
